will give you a little idea about how hard your water is. This test is
not a very accurate way to test for hardness but, it will give you a
close enough idea to know if you have hard water. Unless you have a
water softener, you will have some amount of hardness. Typical municipal
water (city or county water) will generally have 7 - 14 grains of
hardness. Well water will typically run harder than 9 grains. The
following chart will help you with checking water hardness. Keep in
mind, the harder your water, the most soap you will use, not just for
this test but throughout your entire home, everyday!
